Week 8.

Wednesday:Mr Chua let us do a worksheet of Romeo and Juliet ,title ''IMAGERY (R&J)".

'Oh,she doth teach the torches to burn bright!'

Torches are used to bring bright to dark places. When Romeo says that Juliet 'teaches the torches to bun bright'.he is saying that she is more than any torch.Light is a symbol of beauty.

'It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night
Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope's ear.'

The literary device used here is personification.Night is imagined by Romeo to have a life. This means that night is given human characteristics.
Diamonds reflect light cast on them and they sparkle Ethiopia is a country in Africa.Peaple in this country have dark skin.Objects that shine like diamons in the night sky are the stars, and the moon.

'So shows a snowy dove trooping amongst crows,
As yonder lady over her fellows show'

The literary device used here is metaphor, since Juliet is directly compared to a dove. These birds are beautiful. The rest of the ladies in the Ball are compared to crows. These birds are urgly.

Mr Chua asked us to do a similar thing to our love one on the other side of the paper but cannot copy the same thing infront.
I learnt to describe my love one in a form of poetry way.

Friday:Mr chua asked us to do a worksheet called ''Sonnets''.
We need to number the line in the sonnets and find the alternate rhyme scheme and couplet.
Homework are to complete the next page similar to the first page.
I learnt to find alternate rhyme scheme and couplet.

Make up lesson:Mr Chua bought us down to Movers and Shackers Gallary to do a worksheet about our founding father and Singapore history.
I know more about Singapore history and our founding father.
